Cancer Care

The Duke Head and Neck Cancer Clinic brings together a multidisciplinary team of experienced cancer specialists and support staff to provide comprehensive, compassionate care for patients battling cancers of the mouth, salivary glands, nasal cavity, sinuses, throat, larynx, and lymph nodes.

Our head and neck cancer specialists provide expert care and surgery for endocrine tumors, including those of the thyroid and parathyroid glands.

Duke is one of the country’s premier centers for management of skull base tumors, including acoustic neuroma, meningioma, and glomus tumor. Our otolaryngologists excel at endoscopic skull base surgery.

The Duke Head and Neck Cancer Clinic brings together a multidisciplinary team of experienced cancer specialists and support staff to provide comprehensive, compassionate care for patients battling cancers of:

Balance/Vestibular Disorders

Unique in North Carolina, The Duke Vestibular Disorders Clinic provides comprehensive testing and personalized care and rehabilitation for vertigo and other balance disorders.

Voice Disorders

The Duke Voice Care Center offers an integrated approach for the treatment in adults and children of all types of complex voice disorders with special expertise in the area of professional voice (singers and speakers).

Hearing Disorders

Unique in the region, The Duke Hearing Center provides a multidisciplinary approach for the diagnosis and treatment of patients with hearing disorders.

The Duke Cochlear Implant Program, one of the nation’s first, restores hearing for severely hearing impaired children and adults.

Sinonasal Disorders

Our clinical expertise is in all inflammatory disorders of the nose and paranasal sinuses, with a focus on revision surgery for chronic rhinosinusitis. Referred from throughout the region, many patients are treated successfully at Duke for severe and longstanding sinus problems. We also collaborate closely with colleagues at the Duke Asthma, Allergy & Airway Center and the Duke Cystic Fibrosis and Lung Transplant Center. We perform over 300 endoscopic surgeries each year.

Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery Program

As part of the Duke Skull Base Center, the endoscopic skull base surgery team offers minimally invasive endoscopic endonasal surgery for CSF leaks and tumors (benign and malignant) of the sinuses and skull base. Learn more about the program

Our division offers comprehensive care for patients with a wide range of communication, swallowing or hearing problems. We team with different services in the medical system to provide complete and efficient care for you and your family.

We are unique in that we are consistent members of many multidisciplinary teams, including the ALS Clinic, Parkinson’s Clinic, Vascular Malformation Team, Pediatric Aerodigestive Team, and Duke Cleft and Craniofacial.
